Classnet is a user generated and social networking website that allows for digital content sharing between schools, students and the community.Classnet allows schools and community groups to upload and showcase any work in the following formats – video, animation, audio and images. Only the teacher or community group leader can give approval for the public viewing of their students or subjects work. It is an educational style You Tube operated by a government school that has the appropriate safe guards regarding security, safety and privacy. It allows for supporting material whether it is lesson plans, diaries or images of the “making of” etc... to be uploaded and accessed for use by third parties. All content is categorized under school, community group, tag etc... so finding the content you want to view is easy and straight forward.The content can be marked public or private which gives an added layer of privacy. Classnet also has the ability to showcase and profile online film festivals and competitions. Classnet differs from other similar websites such as TeacherTube and Edublogtv because it is totally teacher or group leader moderated and content is organized around each individual school or community group. It encourages;
